RHP Housing Association

For nearly 25 years, Richmond Housing Partnership (RHP) Group has been dedicated to providing safe and secure homes for their communities. They own and manage over 11,000 homes for social rent and shared ownership, and continue to build more in their local communities. Since they began in 2000, RHP has grown steadily and now operates across the boroughs of Richmond, Hounslow, Kingston, Hillingdon, and Spelthorne.

The challenge

Following the pandemic, RHP saw a significant rise in financially vulnerable residents struggling to meet basic needs. Many faced difficult choices between heating their homes and putting food on the table.

To assist, RHP initially issued food bank vouchers, and in urgent cases, purchased digital supermarket gift cards or provided cash for energy top-ups for their residents in need. However, these processes presented challenges:

  • Purchasing gift cards was time-consuming and required approval from the Head of Finance, slowing down support.
  • Providing cash for energy top-ups offered no assurance the funds were used as intended, reducing confidence in the effectiveness of their support.

The solution

Since adopting Evouchers, RHP’s process has become faster, more efficient, and centred on the needs of residents.

“It’s truly changed the way we deliver care.”

Key benefits include:

  • Immediate support: Regularly topping up their account balance eliminates delays and removes the need for repetitive senior approval.
  • Resident choice: Vouchers can be redeemed at the supermarket of their choice, offering more flexible support.
  • Transparency: Tracking when vouchers are opened and where they are redeemed ensures support reaches residents as intended.
  • Emergency readiness: Pre-purchasing a small number of vouchers within contingency planning allows immediate assistance in urgent situations.

In the past two years, Evouchers has helped RHP support over 800 residents, building stronger, trusting relationships and demonstrating that RHP cares for not just their homes, but the people within them.

Positive Impact: Evouchers have eased operational processes during critical periods such as summer holidays and Christmas, making it easier to share support and making these times less stressful for families.

“Evoucher has transformed how we support our residents. We can now provide immediate, dignified help, track its impact, and focus on building stronger relationships with our community.” –  Senior Financial Inclusion Advisor

The future

Looking ahead, RHP aims to expand voucher offerings to support residents moving into new homes, helping them access essentials such as beds, tables, chairs, and kitchen items. Evouchers’ seamless integration into RHP’s processes ensures continued adaptability and support for residents in financial difficulty.
